2018 is rolling and the tunes are hitting us hard! Here are some picks from my sonic explorations over the last few weeks. First up the debut release on Exit Records from a new artist, Groves. The second arrival in Exit Records new wave of fresh talent. Groves comes from Toronto and brings some fresh influences to the sound of drum and bass having grown up listening to dubstep and uk pirate radio. The Tengmo Rah E.P. has got some tremendous sounds on it. Check them out.

Translation recordings have also been busy and signed up another E.P. from Out Of Fuel all the way from Finland. In classic translation style this one is heavy deep and filled with sub bass. Perfect for winter.

Quentin Hiatus has deployed a tremendous single on Silent Dust’s explorative label, none60. Quentin is a great match for their imprint, which strives to release a wide range of experimental tunes. Check out Clever Girl on Bandcamp.

Berlin boys, Survey, are preparing to release the first single on their brand new label, Acrylic. The single is coming out on wax and features collabs with Quartz and a remix by Kid Drama. It’s great to see these lads moving up in the world having followed them from their early days releasing on Protect Audio.

Manchester returned to the fore with a new Dub Phizix remix of Levelz track, Front Face. Dub Phizix even lent his style to the video and produced his own rework of that as well. You can check it out below.

31 records now, and Amit has just offloaded some heavyweight business on Doc Scott’s imprint. Check it out here…

Finally, an EP of Sepalot remixes. The German producer released two albums last year Hide (part1) and & Seek (part 2). This EP is a trio of remixes from some of Germany’s best producer talent right now. My favourite has to be the Schlachthofbronx remix.
