Hello and welcome to the first of the autumnal drum and bass bonanzas. It’s been a busy last few weeks for drum and bass. The last Outlook festival, another emotional edition of Sun & Bass, and now the students are all getting back to their studies there’s a lot of nights on the horizon.

Anyway, enough about all that. It’s time to get into this month’s selections and the first one is an absolute belter. The result of an intercontinental ballistic collaboration this single is a real banger. I would pick one side, but I like both too much. Zed Bias, Skeptical, DRS, Safire and Morph all on one record. Check it.

This one dropped a little while ago back in August, but it slipped through my net. Leipzig based DRANQ released his Serpentine EP on Ran Rad, the new sub label of Beijing’s Ran Music. Featuring 5 tracks of contemporary experimental sound design. This is a lively release with precise production and weighty bass.

Hybris popped up again with a new single on his own label, Pseudoscience Recordings. He played it simple this time with some straight up dance floor music. In his own words “Sometimes you just gotta roll it out”

Next up the young producer, Jack Boston demonstrates his diverse production skills once more for Break’s infamous Symmetry imprint. Featuring his trademark passion for live instruments, which makes for a rich and luxurious sound, which has found a good home on Symmetry.

Berlin duo, Survey, coughed up a new offering for Dispatch Recordings and it’s a meaty one. I’ve been spinning this one regularly.

Ewol has been on fire lately. His EP earlier in the summer for Plasma was a killer and now he’s dropped another EP on Overview. It’s a moody roller. Get involved.

Accomplished watch maker and footwork enthusiast Redraft is ready to take you all the way back to the 90’s with his new EP of ravey footwork. The Wizard being my pick of the bunch.

This one’s not for the faint hearted, but shout out to the Koreans behind this label and release bringing us a taste of their scene.

Regular readers will know i’m a big fan of Leipzig’s Defrostatica imprint and they’ve just dropped their latest release from Moscow based trio, Champion Sound. featuring vocals from dancehall legend Hawkeye. Check it out.

Finally, None60 has just dropped a single of drumfunkery from Askel. Some lovely upright bass action.

That’s it for this month. See you soon.
