DRUM AND BASS BONANZA #50

Now then now then It’s only the bloody 50th Drum and Bass Bonanza. I haven’t won any awards or anything yet, but i’m confident that the spades of respect and adulation will come at some point. Here’s to another 50. I thought about doing something huge and impressive to commemorate the occasion, but I couldn’t really think of anything. There are more tunes than usual in this bundle though. I hope you enjoy.

Kicking off with some Bulgarian madness from Ogonek. This is the most chilled track off the EP. If you’re feeling excited you’re going to love this one.

We’ve got a new Enei EP to get stuck into. This one just came out on Critical and has got some tremendous growling space monsters that will make you shit your pants. I warned you Jimmy.

Trex and Quest have compiled a banging compilation charting the high seas of Jungle with an all star cast. I’ve picked out Trex’s tune, but there’s a lot to listen to with tracks from Dave Owen, Cybin, Jaybee to name a few.

Roller flavours now and Fluidity has killed it with this one. Two sides of absolute summer goodness. Some promising tracks coming from this guy and this label. Keep your eye on them in the future.

DJ Promenade’s LP Ballads dropped in June and features a rich concoction of liquid vibes. Pianos, rolling vibes and musicality make this one a great listen. Solid tunes from a man who’s put a lot of backward into drum and bass in Italy.

Total Science’s classic, Nosher, has had a bit of a rework by “The Sauce” a mystical secretive anonymous trio made up of Smithy from Total Science, Hydro and DLR. The Bristol connection is strong and there’s a lot more in the pipeline from the Sauce.

I don’t normally include Ram releases, but this one has been getting heavy rotation and I couldn’t help but get caught up in it. Black Mamba by Voltage. ooh.

New one from Lewis James, a man whose tracks I strongly approve of. Response is out 19th of July on “None of the above” a compilation curated by Silent Dust, which showcases the strength of the none60 stable, which they have built up over the last few years. BIG

Finally one from a few years back. Digital and Nomine creating a real Jungle journey. Two tunes in one with a perfect blend of all the nostalgia flavours. You’ll love it.

That’s it for this month. ill be back with 51 in a couple of weeks time. In the meantime if you like all kinds of music and you like my picks then you should check out my podcast
